HOW TO MEASURE CORRECTLY WHEN PURCHASING WEDDING AND EVENING DRESSES ONLINE
If you want to order your wedding dress in our Bridal Couture Online Shop, your measurements are the most important thing for a perfect fit. In our size table you can compare your measurements with the given sizes and classify yourself. > Click here for the size chart
If you want to order a dress in a standard size, it can happen that your measurements are between two sizes. We then recommend that you order the larger size, and then possibly have the dress adjusted at one point or another by a tailor-made studio at your location. In Berlin, we are of course at your side with adapting our clothing.
If you would like a customization, you can choose the customization in our shop instead of a size. After you have sent us your measurements by email, we will adjust your deviations from the standard sizes in our cut in advance.
Of course, you can also have yourself measured in our studio by making an appointment in advance.
TIPS FOR MEASURING
The most accurate way to measure yourself is to measure yourself in your underwear. Ideally, you already know which underwear you want to wear underneath. The chest size often varies by a few cm if you wear a push-up bra, for example. It would therefore be advisable to think about which underwear you would like to wear with your garment in advance. We recommend wearing skin-colored underwear under white silk clothes to prevent it from showing through. To define the waist precisely, it helps to tie a ribbon at the waist. This will help you to find the exact position.
CHEST AND UNDERBREAST SIZE
CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE
For the chest circumference you measure completely horizontally around your body. Start at the strongest part of the chest. Run the measuring tape under the armpits, over the back, until you come back to the starting point at the front of the chest. Try to stand straight up while doing this.
UNDERBUST
The underbust circumference is measured in the same way, but just below the bust. Run the measuring tape around your body under your chest.
CHEST DEPTH AND CHEST WIDTH
CHEST DEPTH
To determine the exact position of your chest, you have to go straight down from the base of your neck at your shoulder to your chest point.
CHEST WIDTH
For the chest width, measure from the side seam position under your armpit to your chest point.
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE
For the waist circumference, measure the narrowest point above your belly button. Do not try to hold your breath so that you do not measure too little. You have to be able to breathe in and out comfortably.
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE 8 CM BELOW THE WAIST
Here you measure 8 cm below your waist, once around your body. This measure is particularly helpful in the construction of the waistband of the trousers and skirt, if they are supposed to sit below the waist.
HIP CIRCUMFERENCE & HIP DEPTH
HIP CIRCUMFERENCE
You measure the hip circumference at the strongest point of your hips, over your bottom, around your body.
HIP DEPTH
You measure the hip depth laterally down from the waist to the strongest part of the hip.
STRIDE LENGTH
The stride length is important when buying bodies and pants. Here you measure from the waist line in the front just above your navel, between your legs, to the waist line in the back.
BACK WIDTH AND LENGTH
BACK WIDTH
You measure the width of the back across the back, from arm base to arm base. You can hardly measure this measure yourself. Therefore, you will need help with this.
BACK LENGTH
You measure the back length from the upper cervical vertebra along the back down to the waist line.
SHOULDER WIDTH
You measure the shoulder width from the base of the neck to the shoulder point.
UPPER ARM & SLEEVE LENGTH
UPPER ARM CIRCUMFERENCE
You measure the circumference of the upper arm at the strongest point of your upper arm. If you have two different sizes for your upper arms, choose the larger size.
SLEEVE LENGTH
You measure the sleeve length with a slightly bent arm. You measure from the shoulder point above the arm ball, along the outside of the elbow to the wrist / carpal bone.
SIDE LENGTH
You measure the side length from the waist line down your leg to the sole of your foot.
